Monster High Make-Over

Follow Me on Pinterest

I've tried several times to give this sewing machine cabinet away...

Needless to say it's been sitting outside collecting dust for more than a minute!

My daughter is a huge Monster High Fan so here's what I turned this old ugly cabinet in to!

She is going to LOVE IT!

*The black top behind the logo is actually painted with chalk board paint!  She will have no need for scratch paper while doing her home work.

The Painted Tree

I've been seeing these wall trees all over pinterest!  Turns out they are wall decals.  I've never tried my hand at wall decals but didn't think it would be a fit for my paneled dining room wall.

Painted Coat Rack
So with a little semi gloss paint and some old hardware
(off of a very dated unattractive cabinet)...
I painted a coat rack for our dining room!!!

I figured it can be our newest family mission to hunt down and collect antique drawer pulls to add to our tree!
And then...
I did it again in my daughters room :)

Painted Family Tree

I've purchased some pretty light green contact paper to cut out as leaves to add some color to their "FAMILY TREE"

These trees would work great as a background for towel hooks in the bathroom too!

Would love your feedback and ideas!

The Art of Kanzashi

I'm always looking for a way to use up all these fabric scraps I find in the remnant pile at the fabric store. These take very little fabric and I've found that mixing a light weight fabric with a heavier weight make for a sturdy Hair Flower.

Here is a great TUTORIAL and where I got my inspiration for these Hair Flowers.  These are time consuming and if you use canvas like I do you'll need a good sharp needle!

My Daughter is always losing her bows at school so I started personalizing her stuff!  Now the school calls if her bows are found on the play ground!
So if my fabric is heavy... I use 6 petals and if I'm using a light weight fabric I use 7 petals.  You can also add a leaf for whimsy!

Of course I'm selling these in my Shop at SpoiledRottenCotton.com
